Analysis and presentation of a problem and its causes using a cause-and-effect diagram (or Ishikawa diagram) or a fault tree analysis. A collection of sample templates for PowerPoint.

Show which influences lead to which effects.

An Ishikawa diagram is suitable for graphically representing the causes of a problem and their dependencies. A horizontal arrow points to the right, representing the concisely formulated problem. Diagonal arrows converge on this main axis from the left, labeled with the most significant influences. Each influence can be further refined with smaller arrows, depending on its complexity. The overall structure of the problem's causes resembles the bones of a fish.

Problem analysis as a tree structure

Another tool for assessing potential problems is fault tree analysis. It resembles a fishbone diagram rotated 90 degrees. In such a fault tree, all possible problems that could lead to the failure of the entire process are entered as nodes. This type of diagram allows for the assignment of a failure probability to each node and their combination with logical operators. This enables the calculation of the problem probability.

This PowerPoint set includes a collection of Ishikawa diagrams in various shapes and designs. For clarity, some of the diagrams are designed to resemble fish illustrations. Additionally, this package offers templates for fault tree analysis in schematic form.
