Extensive information about the Internet of Things, presented in a PowerPoint presentation.

Product description
The Internet of Things describes the digital communication and collaboration of multiple computer units. Nowadays, hardly any electronic devices are built or invented that don't have their own processing unit – whether it's a car or a smartwatch.

This is also true in industry: machines for individual work steps communicate with each other constantly to ensure continuous coordination and maximum efficiency. In this way, modern companies increase and guarantee the productivity and quality of their products.

The template comes with explanations of the Internet of Things with all its functions, work processes, advantages and disadvantages.

Internet of Things PowerPoint template

Data, facts and figures about the Internet of Things - summarized in a PowerPoint presentation.

Smart devices

The goal of the Internet of Things is to unite the virtual and real worlds. Things, meaning everyday objects, are meant to "learn to think" and communicate with each other via the internet. The computer as a standalone device is increasingly being replaced by "smart things," that is, by many smaller computers embedded in everyday objects.

Internet of Things, but how?

The concept works via so-called "radio frequency identification" (RFID). Small electronic data storage devices, also called transponders, are embedded in various objects. These transponders can be read or written using radio waves. Each transponder contains a specific number, the "Electronic Product Code" (EPC), which uniquely identifies the respective object worldwide. RFID technology allows an object to be read and individually tracked contactlessly over a considerable distance. Depending on the frequency of the radio signal, the range can extend up to several hundred meters. This technology is already used in various contexts, such as toll systems, animal identification in agriculture, and electronic locks.

Internet of Things: Industry 4.0 in PowerPoint

To transform the radio-frequency identification system into a truly intelligent Internet of Things, one crucial detail is missing: the Object Name Service (ONS). This service assigns an object's Electronic Product Code (EPC) to a website. This allows information about a scanned object to be retrieved from the web and processed at any time. This method plays a significant role in Industry 4.0, the digitalization of manufacturing technology and logistics. It enables machines and components within a factory to communicate with each other, thereby optimizing the production process fully automatically. We have compiled and presented all the necessary information on how this works in detail in our slides.
