How to insert PowerPoint page numbers – Here's how to include slide numbers!

  1. On the "Insert" tab, click the "Header and Footer" option.

  2. In the window that opens, use your mouse to place a checkmark in the box labeled "Slide number" .

  3. You now have several options: Do you only want to assign a page number to the current slide ? Then confirm with "Apply" . Do you want to insert PowerPoint page numbers on all slides ? Then confirm with "Apply to all" .
  4. If you want to omit the page number on the title slide , check the box "Do not show on title slide" .

  3. You can now click on the page number placeholder with your mouse. Hold it down until the four-pointed arrow appears . Then drag the placeholder to the desired position.

In some cases, it makes sense to insert slide numbers only after a certain numbering level has been reached . This is done as follows:

  1. In the " Design " tab, select the " Slide Size" option and then "Custom Slide Size" .

  2. A window will open. Here, under the option "Numbering starts at", click the up or down arrows until you reach your desired starting number.

  2. In the free field under "Footer" you can now enter the creator and the topic of the presentation.

  1. Open the "Insert" tab. Here you select "Header and Footer" .
  2. In the dialog box that opens, click on the "Slide" tab.
