Checkliste 4: Was Sie kurz vor dem Vortrag noch beachten sollten

Checklist 4: What you should consider shortly before the presentation

|Tom Schweitzer
Now the time has come, your big moment has arrived! You don't need to be nervous at all, because you've thought of everything during the preparations. We have compiled some important checklist items for your self-organization immediately before the presentation. After that, absolutely nothing can go wrong before the talk.
  • Allow plenty of time between arrival and the start of the lecture.
  • Does any additional equipment need to be procured that wasn't brought along?
  • Will the event staff handle the seating and table setup? Or will guests need to set something up themselves?
  • If there is a participant list, it may be advisable to check again at short notice whether there are enough seats available.
  • If catering is provided, is everything organized or is there anything else that needs to be arranged?
  • Where should I go before the lecture and during the break? Do I have an assigned seat?
  • Schedule a rehearsal for the presentation.
  • Ensure Wi-Fi access (if needed).
  • Check the links in the presentation (if any).
  • Plan for shortening or extending the presentation (rather rare) in case there is a fixed time frame, for example if other speakers will be speaking afterwards.
  • Make arrangements with the moderator (if applicable).
  • Warm up your voice.
  • Provide a drink.
  • Turn off or mute your own mobile devices.
  • Adjust lighting conditions and noise levels if possible.
You are now perfectly equipped for your presentation. In the final part of our checklist series, learn how to bring your presentation experience to a good and relaxed end.
