How to use image captions correctly in PowerPoint – Original image captions

|Tom Schweitzer

We'll show you two methods for creating original yet clear image captions in your presentations. These simple tricks will effortlessly win over your audience.

Place parts of the image in front of the text:
This method allows you to visually integrate text into the image by partially overlapping it with elements in the foreground. To achieve this effect, proceed as follows:

  1. Insert the desired image into the presentation. To do this, click on "Pictures" under the "Insert" tab and select the appropriate image file.
  2. Create a copy of the image in the same position. The quickest way to do this is with the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V.
  3. With the copy selected, click on “Picture Tools” and then “Crop Out”.
  4. Select the image areas that should appear in front of the text and isolate them.
  5. Then insert the text into the image using a text box.
  6. You can set the position of the text using the "Send to Back" and "Send to Back" functions in the context menu (right-click with the mouse button).

Insert text with perspective text effect:

  1. Insert the desired image. Photos of a road merging into the horizon are particularly suitable, for example.
  2. Insert a text box and the desired text. With the text box selected, choose "Text Effects" under "Format" in the "Drawing Tools" menu.
  3. Select the desired perspective from the drop-down menu under "3D Rotation".
  4. Under the menu item “More 3D settings…” you can precisely adjust the detailed settings for 3D rotation.
  5. This method allows you to display stretched text on an image, as you know it from end credits in films.

These tricks will help you create original presentations that capture your audience's attention. The first part of this series explains the basic steps for using image captions effectively.
